Our Mission

The Vinton Museum is operated by the Vinton Historical Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to researching and documenting items of historical relevance. 

In order to fulfill this mission, we  
   • Preserve historical documents and artifacts for future generations;
   • Research and document items of historical significance;
   • Promote educational opportunities for the community;
   • Partner with the Town of Vinton and the County of Roanoke to provide a museum             worthy of our citizens.

August 22: Salem Red Sox Game,

September 4: Closed for Labor Day

September 11: "Our Past," Berkshire Health Care Center 
(Every 2nd Monday, 2:30-3:00 pm)

September 19: Vinton Historical Society meeting, 2 pm, Vinton War Memorial 
Program: Roanoke County Support, (Dessert served)

October 14: Museum Open House, Vinton Fall Festival, 10 am – 2 pm

October 17: Vinton Historical Society meeting, 2 pm, Vinton War Memorial
Program: Town of Vinton Economic Development

October 31: Halloween Trick or Treat 
(Volunteers AND Candy needed)

November 10: Veteran’s Day – Museum Open to Salute Our Veterans, 10 am – 2 pm

November 14: Vinton Historical Society meeting, 2 pm, Vinton War Memorial
Program: Marlow Ferguson, Star City Players

November 20 – 24: Museum closed for Thanksgiving

December 2: Museum’s Holiday Open House,
10 am – 2 pm
Refreshments, Old Fashioned Holiday Décor & Exhibits

December 19: Christmas Luncheon, 12 noon, 
Vinton Baptist Church small dining room

December 15: Museum closes until Jan. 8, 2018
